لوح محفوظ

Lawh Mahfuz Press provides editorial services in academic and literary publishing, with a focus on the history of philosophy, classical and medieval studies, Near Eastern studies, religion, theology, and politics.

To prune what is turgid, to elevate what is mean, to repress exuberance, arrange what is disorderly, introduce rhythm where it is lacking, and modify it where it is too emphatic, involves a twofold labour: for we have to condemn what had previously satisfied us and discover what had escaped our notice. Quintilian, Institutio Oratoria X.4

About

Hunter V. McClure is a graduate student at St. John's College Graduate Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he studies the history of philosophy and politics. His primary scholarly interests include Aristotle's political thought and natural science, the reception of Greek philosophy in the medieval Islamic world, and the American political tradition. His undergraduate formation at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, in English literature, early modern studies, and philosophy, gave him a grounding in continental thought and in the literature of the seventeenth century that continues to inform his practice as an editor.

As of June 2026, he has had a role in bringing over 113 books to market as a copy-editor, line-editor, developmental editor, indexer, and subject-matter consultant. He works primarily with publishers in academic and literary publishing, especially in philosophy, theology, history, and classical education.
